Terminal Two Work Continues

Last weekend saw the installation of three of the largest escalators in Ireland take place at Terminal Two Dublin Airport. The escalators weigh in at twenty eight and a half tonnes each as work continues on the terminal.

As part of the overall six hundred and ten million project the escalators will provide a connection between Pier E and Terminal Two.  It is expected that the escalators will be in public use by November 2010.

Manufactured in the Czech Republic by Otis the escalators measure thirty three and a half metres long and arrived in Dublin last week with the help of twelve trucks. Installation is been managed by two cranes with each machine taking one end of the escalator and lifting it into place.
