According to an announcement made earlier today the DAA looks set to cut 400 jobs from its workforce of 3,600. The DAA are also involved with Shannon and Cork Airports.
Last month the company announced that it expected an eleven percent decrease in Traffic across the three airports in the coming years which would result in a loss of earnings of up to seventy million euro.
The lay offs are necessary as part of a cost cutting measure. Full union involvement is taking place as ongoing discussions are planned.
The news comes hot on the heels of last months redundancies made by the Swiss company SR Technics. Seven hundred staff were affected by these measures. Irish budget airline Ryanair cut two hundred jobs in February.
